Product Description

The Xperix BioMini Slim 2 is an ultra-slim FAP20 single-fingerprint optical scanner designed for professional biometric enrollment, identification and authentication applications. With an ultra-slim 18.5 mm overall height, the scanner combines compact construction with FAP20-certified fingerprint capture and advanced live finger detection.

The BioMini Slim 2 features a 13.5 mm optical sensor, 500 ppi resolution, and a 300 × 400 pixel fingerprint image size. It is designed to capture high-quality fingerprint images under challenging conditions, including dry or wet fingers and strong ambient light.

FAP20 Certified Fingerprint Scanning

The BioMini Slim 2 is FBI PIV and FBI Mobile ID FAP20 certified, making it suitable for applications requiring standardized single-fingerprint biometric capture. Its platen measures 16.5 × 21 mm, providing a larger capture area than the FAP20 minimum standard.

AI-Based Live Finger Detection

The scanner incorporates Xperix’s AI-based Live Finger Detection (LFD) technology. It is compliant with ISO/IEC 30107-3 PAD Level 1 & 2 and is designed to distinguish genuine fingers from presentation attacks using materials such as silicone, rubber, clay, glue, paper and film.

Multi-Dynamic Range Technology

Xperix’s proprietary Multi-Dynamic Range (MDR) technology helps maintain fingerprint capture quality under difficult lighting and finger conditions. The manufacturer specifies reliable capture under direct sunlight up to 100,000 lux and with dry or wet fingers.

High-Quality Fingerprint Image Capture

The BioMini Slim 2 captures fingerprint images at 500 ppi with 8-bit, 256-level grayscale and a resolution of 300 × 400 pixels. Supported image formats include RAW, BMP, ISO 19794-4 and FBI-certified WSQ.

IP65 Sensor Protection

The sensor surface is protected by an IP65-rated sealed design, helping protect the scanner against dust and water exposure during everyday use. The sensor also uses scratch-resistant optical glass.

USB Connectivity

The scanner uses USB 2.0 High-Speed connectivity and draws power directly from the USB host. Plug-and-play functionality simplifies connection to compatible systems.

Multi-Platform Support

The BioMini Slim 2 supports Windows 10 or higher, Linux distributions and Android 5.0 or higher with USB Host support. This makes it suitable for desktop, mobile and embedded biometric applications.

Windows Hello Compatibility
